A local artist was looking to re-vamp their art studio into a more functional space. This small space was cluttered with art supplies and was not being optimized so we came up with a custom plan to create different zones to include an area for painting, drawing and computer work. We also utilized wall space and the high ceiling to create gallery shelving for artwork and other storage. The theme was black and white so we included a black wall to provide contrast. We also replaced the existing wall sconces to more updated, adjustable fixtures and added colour changing lights to allow the homeowner to adjust the light colours and allow for changing themes.
My name is Emily, and I am an artist from Hamilton, Ontario. As an artist, it is important to have a space that is custom to you, where you feel most comfortable in. When working with the Above Construction team, I was able to communicate exactly what I wanted and have it look exactly the way I imagined, and better.
Our collaboration was rendered perfectly into a 3D design, where I could see the exact amount of shelving space and desk room that would become apart of my room. I put emphasis on wanting studio lighting and LED lined shelves, and got an even better result than what I expected.
The team took note of my love for PC and Console gaming, and music records, and gave me enough room to enjoy those while simultaneously having more than enough desk space to create my portraits and other art pieces. The Above Construction team is empathetic to a persons wants and needs, and they are more than capable at customizing and developing a space just for you.
