This homeowner wanted to convert their faux balcony to a usable outdoor space. They started by installing a massive sliding door in place of an existing window system as we removed rotted materials that were compromising structural integrity. Once structurally sound, we added a vinyl flooring membrane to ensure a completely waterproof surface and added a dark coloured railing system. We replaced the existing cedar shake with a vinyl shake that will be able to withstand our changing seasons and a cedar soffit detail to finish the look. All finishes were selected to complement the existing yellow front door.
